Torc Robotics

Torc Robotics develops Level 4 self-driving software and vehicle integration for long-haul freight, built for the Freightliner Cascadia platform and hub-to-hub routes in the United States.

Torc Robotics develops Level 4 autonomous trucking technology: self-driving software and vehicle integration solutions for long-haul freight. Founded in 2005, the company has spent more than two decades working on self-driving applications. Its current product is a complete self-driving software and integration solution built specifically for the Freightliner Cascadia platform, targeting hub-to-hub autonomous freight operations in the United States.

The engineering work spans autonomous vehicles, Level 4 autonomy, safety-critical systems, robotics and vehicle integration. Torc operates as an independent subsidiary of Daimler Truck, combining startup agility with enterprise scale. Its teams include software engineers, safety professionals and mechanics working across locations in Blacksburg, Virginia; Ann Arbor, Michigan; Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Montreal, Quebec, serving operations in the United States and Canada.

Safety is treated as the foundation of how the company develops, deploys and operates its technology rather than one priority among others. The company's stated focus is moving autonomous trucking from innovation to commercialisation, working with fleet partners including Schneider and C.R. England. Relevant industry verticals include freight and trucking, logistics, supply chain, heavy-duty truck manufacturing and autonomous transportation.
