Topos Bio
Topos Bio is a San Francisco AI-native drug discovery company building all-atom generative models of intrinsically disordered proteins and their small-molecule interactions.
Topos Bio is an AI-native drug discovery company based in San Francisco that develops computational methods for targeting intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs), a protein class long considered undruggable. IDPs are estimated to comprise roughly 30-40% of the human proteome, and the company applies its work to diseases including Alzheimer's, other neurodegenerative conditions and aggressive cancers. It emerged from stealth mode in 2025 with $10.5m in seed funding.
The company's technical work centres on generative modelling of protein conformational ensembles at all-atom resolution. Topos-1 is an all-atom generative model that produces realistic conformational ensembles for intrinsically disordered proteins. Topos-2 maps conformational ensembles across the human proteome using the company's BioScape technology. Topos-Bind models small-molecule interactions with protein ensembles; the company describes it as the first generative model producing ensembles of disordered proteins bound to small molecules.
Topos Bio combines its computational platform with high-throughput experimental validation, and works across small molecules, peptides and targeted degraders. The company pursues collaborations spanning early discovery through co-development, and participates in pharmaceutical initiatives including Lilly's TuneLab platform.
