Genesis Molecular AI

Genesis Molecular AI builds foundation models and molecular-space platforms, including GEMS and Pearl, for AI-driven drug design against difficult protein targets.

Genesis Molecular AI, founded in 2019, develops foundation models for molecular AI. Its work sits at the intersection of deep learning, computational chemistry and drug discovery, with a focus on exploring molecular space to design medicines against protein targets that have traditionally proved difficult or undruggable.

The company's technical output centres on two products. GEMS (Genesis Exploration of Molecular Space) is a proprietary platform for exploring molecular space in support of drug design and development. Pearl is a foundation model intended to help scientists identify medicines with high potency and selectivity.

Genesis Molecular AI has raised over $300M in total capital and counts collaborations with pharmaceutical industry leaders including Gilead and Incyte. It operates in the pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and drug discovery and development sectors.

The team is interdisciplinary, combining deep learning researchers, software engineers and drug discovery practitioners. The company describes its mission as addressing the speed and cost of conventional drug discovery methods by bridging AI and biotechnology.
