Swan
Swan builds a modular autonomy platform for drones and autonomous platforms to navigate, sense, map and target without GPS/GNSS in contested environments.
Swan builds a modular autonomy platform designed to keep drones and other autonomous platforms operating reliably in contested environments where GPS/GNSS signals are degraded, denied, or unavailable. The platform combines navigation, sensing, mapping, and precision-targeting capabilities that can be fielded independently or deployed together. Rather than relying on external positioning signals, it runs directly on individual assets, using onboard sensing and advanced algorithms to determine position and guide action.
The company's technical work spans autonomous systems, GPS/GNSS-denied navigation, robotics, sensing, mapping, onboard perception and precision targeting. Applications include defense, critical infrastructure, drones and unmanned aerial systems, and other autonomous platforms. The engineering team includes autonomy specialists with experience at Aurora and Uber's self-driving divisions, as well as alumni of the National Robotics Engineering Center at Carnegie Mellon, alongside mission-tested defense veterans.
Swan is backed by defense-focused venture investors including a16z's American Dynamism fund. The company states a mission-driven focus on building scalable autonomous products for defense and critical infrastructure.
