Sequen AI, founded in 2024 and headquartered in New York, has raised $16M in Series A funding to build what it calls the world's first Behavior Design Engine for the enterprise. The platform takes a different approach to personalization: rather than relying on static user profiles, it uses reinforcement learning to shape user behavior in real-time. At its core are specialized Large Event Models (LEMs), trained on billions of user event sequences, which predict next-user actions and dynamically re-rank experiences with sub-25ms latency.

The company's platform processes over 20 billion monthly requests and has delivered over $162M in revenue lift for its first five customers within the retail, marketplaces, and travel verticals. It reached this scale in under 18 months. The technical stack spans neural networks, reinforcement learning, and retrieval expertise.

The founding team brings experience scaling search and discovery systems at Etsy, Yahoo, HookLogic, and Anthropic. Sequen AI positions its technology as a step beyond traditional recommendation engines, focusing on actively influencing user behavior rather than passively predicting it.
