It automates invoice creation, delivery, and collections; finances and collects premiums; converts bank deposits into matched accounting entries; reconciles and disburses carrier payables; and supports faster book closing through end-to-end automation.
The technical work spans several domains: AI-powered accounting automation, payments infrastructure, premium financing, and broader financial operations automation. The product is aimed at replacing manual, paper-based processes such as PDFs, email threads, and manual reconciliation with automated workflows across the insurance value chain.
Ascend serves insurance agencies, wholesalers, Managing General Agents (MGAs), and carriers. The platform is used by more than 4,000 insurance businesses, including more than half of the 50 largest brokers. The company positions its work within the $10trn insurance industry it seeks to serve.
