Applied Physics
An independent public benefit research institute applying mathematical modeling, physics and engineering to problems in propulsion, hypersonics, quantum mechanics and machine learning.
Research output includes a constant-velocity subluminal warp drive solution, described as satisfying all energy conditions through a stable matter shell with an Alcubierre-like shift vector. Applied Physics also runs the Warp Fund, which has committed $500,000 in Phase I Warp Grants to advance Warp Field Mechanics, and maintains an Advanced Propulsion Laboratory in Stockholm, Sweden. In 2017 the institute acquired Helion Energy's hypersonics division. The Λ-Team, an elite cadre of scientists and engineers, provides expertise on feasibility studies, mathematical modeling and engineering challenges across these domains.
The institute describes its operating structure as deliberately lean, with no red tape or archaic hierarchies, and states a focus on pushing scientific boundaries. Its work spans a global footprint with a laboratory presence in Stockholm, Sweden, and covers industry verticals including scientific research, aerospace, aerospace defense, advanced propulsion, hypersonics, energy and engineering services.
