Agility Robotics

Agility Robotics builds and manufactures humanoid robots, notably Digit, for industrial work in warehouses and factories, with a robot plant in Salem, Oregon.

Agility Robotics develops and manufactures humanoid robots intended to work alongside people in industrial environments. Founded in 2015 as a spin-off from Oregon State University's Dynamic Robotics Lab, the company employs more than 200 people across three sites: its headquarters and RoboFab factory in Salem, Oregon, and offices in Pittsburgh and Fremont, California.

Its flagship product, Digit, is a bipedal humanoid robot built for tasks requiring human-like flexibility and adaptation. It is the first humanoid robot to be commercially deployed in warehouses, manufacturing facilities and distribution centres, with a stated focus on labour challenges in physically demanding industries. The company also operates RoboFab, described as the first full-scale factory for humanoid robots, with a peak capacity of 10,000 units annually.

Technical work spans humanoid robotics, bipedal locomotion, artificial intelligence, robot simulation and training, manufacturing automation and robotics research and development. Partnerships with NVIDIA on simulation training and with Google DeepMind on AI development form part of the company's research programme. Industry verticals served include warehousing, manufacturing, distribution and logistics, automotive manufacturing and e-commerce fulfilment.
