Reflection

Reflection builds frontier open intelligence and superintelligent autonomous systems intended to handle most cognitive work performed on a computer. Its current focus is autonomous coding, which the company regards as a key step towards broader superintelligence. The work spans reinforcement learning, large language models and open foundation models.

The company's products fall into two categories: open foundation models for autonomous coding, built on reinforcement learning and large language model expertise, and autonomous coding systems designed to discover new ways of solving problems rather than simply automating existing work. Reflection's stated aim is to make superintelligence open and accessible to all, on the view that transformative technology flourishes when it is available to everyone rather than captured by a few.

The team's prior work contributed to AlphaGo, AlphaZero, PaLM, GPT-4 and Gemini, bringing experience of combining large-scale compute with algorithmic research from the past decade's major AI breakthroughs. Reflection operates in the verticals of artificial intelligence research, software development and open-source AI, and is currently inviting people to join.
