Pindrop
Pindrop builds voice biometrics and machine-learning technology that authenticates callers and detects fraud, deepfakes and synthetic media in contact centres, meetings and digital interactions.
Pindrop develops voice biometrics, machine learning and security technology designed to verify who is on the other end of an interaction. Founded in 2011, the company analyses hundreds of signals from every voice and video interaction to authenticate legitimate users, and applies synthetic media detection to identify deepfakes and other AI-generated threats. Its work spans voice biometrics, fraud detection, deepfake and synthetic media detection, and biometric authentication.
The company's products cover three areas: voice biometrics authentication, which scores callers against signals drawn from their speech; fraud and deepfake detection for contact centres, which aims to block fraudsters before they cause harm; and protection for virtual meetings and digital interactions, which extends the same detection capabilities beyond the phone channel. Customers include eight of the top ten US banks and numerous Fortune 500 companies, across banking, insurance, healthcare, retail and contact centres.
Pindrop is backed by investors including Andreessen Horowitz and CapitalG, and operates primarily in the United States. The team combines expertise in voice biometrics, machine learning and security, with most members coming from security and research backgrounds. The stated focus of the work is staying ahead of evolving AI-generated threats.
