Nace AI

Nace AI, founded in 2024 in Palo Alto, builds customer-controlled Small Language Models and a dynamic metamodel framework to automate enterprise business processes end to end.

Nace AI is an applied research and product company founded in 2024 and headquartered in Palo Alto, California. It builds what it calls sovereign specialised intelligence: Small Language Models (SLMs) designed to run enterprise business processes end to end, with accuracy, auditability and customer control of the models treated as design constraints rather than afterthoughts. The founding team came together in the summer of 2024 and draws on collective experience at Google, Meta, Amazon and the University of Toronto.

The company's technical work centres on SLMs, large language model adaptation and fine-tuning, and a dynamic metamodel framework underpinning its platforms. Three products have emerged. NAVI, the first, runs business processes on small models the customer controls, with each engagement making the models more proprietary to the client. Nace Data Intelligence is described as the flagship platform for end-to-end business process automation built on advanced small models and the dynamic metamodel framework. Nace SLM Cloud covers deployment and control of those models.

The commercial focus is on professional services and enterprise customers. Professional services firms using Nace AI recover 1,000 hours per client engagement, according to the company's published metric. Funding amount and stage have not been disclosed.
