Mujin

Mujin builds an intelligent robotics platform - Mujin Controller and MujinOS - giving industrial robots perception and autonomous decision-making for manufacturing and logistics automation.

Mujin, founded in 2011, builds the software and control systems intended to make industrial robots genuinely intelligent. Its intelligent robotics platform is designed to give robots perception, situational awareness and autonomous decision-making, replacing pre-programmed, fixed-sequence movements with machines that adapt to changing environments and variable tasks.

The platform rests on two components. Mujin Controller is a robot controller that enables machines to perceive their surroundings and make decisions on their own. MujinOS is an operating system for robots that underpins the platform and allows adaptation to complex, variable work. Together they are positioned as an alternative to expensive, inflexible task-specific programming, targeting jobs previously left to human labour - mixed-case palletising and complete warehouse fulfilment among them.

The company's technical work spans intelligent robotics, robot perception, autonomous decision-making, industrial automation and robotics software and control systems. Its customers operate across manufacturing, logistics, warehousing and palletising and packaging - industries Mujin identifies as facing severe labour shortages. The company states a mission of liberating humans from dangerous, repetitive manual work so they can focus on creative and innovative tasks.

Mujin operates from Tokyo, Japan and Atlanta, USA, having been founded with a global vision.
