Mariana Minerals
Mariana Minerals builds software, machine learning and automation for critical minerals mining, with a reinforcement-learning control platform and lithium and copper operations in the United States.
Mariana Minerals is a software-first, vertically integrated critical minerals company operating in the United States. It combines mining expertise with software, machine learning and automation to shorten mine development timelines, lower costs and improve environmental performance. Traditional mining projects take about 12 years from discovery to production; the company has set a goal of delivering 10 critical mineral projects in 10 years.
At the centre of the technical stack is PlantOS, a proprietary platform that applies reinforcement learning to autonomously control mineral processing operations in real time. The company's technical domains include machine learning, reinforcement learning, autonomous systems and automation, real-time process control and mineral processing software.
Two assets anchor the operating portfolio. Lithium One is described as the world's first GWh-scale commercial lithium extraction operation using oil and gas produced water. Copper One is presented as the first autonomy-first copper mine and refinery. Both feed into a stated mission of securing a domestic critical mineral supply chain, with end markets spanning clean energy, AI infrastructure and defense technology.
Mariana Minerals is backed by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z). Its leadership team combines experience from Tesla, Palantir and the mining industry.
