Lio
Lio builds an AI-native enterprise procurement platform in which specialised AI agents research vendors, negotiate terms, manage approvals and track deliveries end-to-end.
Lio is an enterprise software company building what it describes as the world's first AI-native procurement platform, underpinned by multi-agent infrastructure. Founded in 2023, the company deploys specialised AI agents that execute procurement work end-to-end - vendor research, negotiation, approvals and delivery tracking - with agents running in parallel to replace hours of manual workflows. The technical domains involved span multi-agent AI systems, machine learning, process automation and natural language negotiation automation.
The platform is designed so that coordinated networks of agents carry procurement workflows through at machine speed and scale. Lio works alongside some of the world's largest enterprises, and states that each customer problem solved can become a product feature available to every customer worldwide.
The company is backed by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) and was part of the Y Combinator S23 batch. The team numbers more than 90 people, referred to internally as "Lions". Lio describes its culture as one for builders who enjoy difficult technical problems, with an emphasis on clean, scalable engineering, direct communication and a preference for outliers who work harder and smarter.
