Kawasaki Robotics

Kawasaki Robotics, a division of Kawasaki Heavy Industries, designs and manufactures industrial robots, including cobots, delta robots and articulated arms with payloads up to 1,500kg.

Kawasaki Robotics designs and manufactures industrial robots and automation solutions as a division of Kawasaki Heavy Industries. The company traces its origins to 1969, when Kawasaki Heavy Industries produced the first industrial robot made in Japan - an event that marked the beginning of the country's industrial robotics industry. More than 210,000 of its robots have since been installed worldwide, spanning over five decades of development in the field.

Its product range covers several distinct areas of robotics engineering: collaborative robots (cobots) built to operate safely alongside humans, delta robots for high-speed pick-and-place operations, and powerful articulated robot arms capable of handling payloads of up to 1,500kg. The broader technical portfolio extends to hydraulic systems and gas turbines, reflecting the engineering breadth of its parent group, a century-old conglomerate with approximately 100 companies worldwide.

The robots are deployed across industries including automotive manufacturing, life sciences, electronics assembly, food production, shipbuilding and aircraft. The company operates from headquarters in Japan, with sales and service support across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific.

Kawasaki Robotics states a philosophy that robots should augment human capabilities rather than replace them, with an emphasis on improving productivity, quality and workplace safety for customers. Its engineering approach is rooted in Japanese quality standards and a tradition of innovation dating back to its founding.
