HP IQ
HP's AI innovation laboratory, formed from the acquisition of Humane, builds an ecosystem of AI PCs, smart printers and connected conference rooms alongside the AI Pin and Cosmos platform.
HP IQ is HP's artificial intelligence innovation laboratory, founded in 2025 to embed AI across the company's product lineup. Its work spans artificial intelligence, ambient computing, human-computer interaction and smart devices, applied to an ecosystem of AI PCs, smart printers and connected conference rooms. The stated aim is intelligent, seamless interaction between people and technology, with systems that understand and anticipate human needs rather than merely respond to commands.
The unit was established through HP's strategic acquisition of Humane, the ambient computing company founded by former Apple engineers Bethany Bongiorno and Imran Chaudhri. Among the assets carried over are the AI Pin, an ambient computing device, and the Cosmos platform. Both were developed at Humane before the acquisition.
HP IQ employs over 100 engineers, designers and researchers in a cross-disciplinary team, working at the intersection of AI hardware, consumer electronics, printing, workplace technology and enterprise collaboration. The organisation describes itself as combining startup agility with HP's worldwide reach, with an intended reach of how millions of people work and create every day. Its mission is to amplify human ingenuity, with an emphasis on making complex tasks effortless, collaboration more natural and creativity more impactful.
