Cribl

Cribl builds a vendor-agnostic data processing engine for IT and security teams, covering telemetry pipelines, endpoint agents, search-in-place analytics and data lakes.

Cribl, founded in 2018 and headquartered in San Francisco, is a data processing engine company that describes itself as the “Data Engine for IT and Security”. It builds a vendor-agnostic product suite for IT operations and security teams, spanning telemetry pipelines, log management, data lakes, search-in-place analytics, endpoint agents, and IT and security observability. The company operates remote-first and employs more than 600 people.

Its product line comprises four components. Cribl Stream is described as the industry’s leading telemetry pipeline; Cribl Edge is an intelligent, vendor-neutral agent; Cribl Search provides search-in-place analytics; and Cribl Lake is a turnkey data lake. The suite is designed to let enterprises route, process and store machine data without committing to a single analytics or storage vendor.

The company has surpassed $200m in annual recurring revenue and reports being among the fastest infrastructure companies to reach that mark. Its stated values are “Customers First, Always”, “Irreverent but Serious”, “Insatiably Curious”, “Open and Authentic” and “Excel Together”. Employees are known as “goats”, after the mascot Ian the Goat. The firm supports eight employee resource groups with over 45% participation, runs a community service programme called Goats Give Back, and partners with World Vision to donate a goat to a family in need for every new customer.
