Founded in 2012 and headquartered in New York, the company has grown to more than 5 million users across over 100 countries. It operated for eight years on a bootstrapped basis before raising a $100m Series A.

Its technical work spans visual programming, full-stack web development, iOS and Android app development, cloud hosting and infrastructure, visual design tooling and database management. The company recently added AI-powered app generation, which produces full-stack applications from natural-language prompts.

The Bubble Platform is used to build software in verticals including SaaS, marketplaces, startups and enterprise software. The company's stated aim is to erase the distinction between using software and creating it, making development accessible regardless of technical background.
