Augmodo

Augmodo builds spatial AI using wearable SmartBadge cameras and 3D mapping software to monitor retail shelf inventory and generate live store maps.

Augmodo is a spatial AI company working on retail environments. Its systems combine computer vision, egocentric video capture and 3D mapping to track inventory and produce real-time maps of physical stores. The company's wearable device, SmartBadge, is a passive badge fitted with dual cameras that records from the vantage point of store associates as they move the aisles. Augmodo reports that the approach costs 100 times less than competing solutions and captures 10 times more shelf data.

Footage from the badges feeds two software products. Realograms are live, self-updating 3D store maps that flag stock levels and missing items, refreshed dozens of times a day. A wider AI-powered platform gives associates guidance the company equates to two years of experience from their first shift, cutting manual audits and simplifying ecommerce order fulfilment. Early customers recorded a 30% improvement in on-shelf availability within the first month of deployment; installing the system in a store takes under 30 minutes.

Privacy is handled on premise: video is filtered locally, and Augmodo states that neither associates nor customers are tracked, with only shelf data processed. The company describes its philosophy as human-centric, aiming to remove tedious manual work rather than replace retail staff. Deployments include QFC in the United States and Chemist Warehouse in Australia, across grocery, pharmacy and big-box retail.
