XPeng

XPeng is a Chinese smart electric vehicle company founded in 2014 and headquartered in Guangzhou. It designs, develops, manufactures and markets intelligent EVs aimed at technology-savvy consumers, and has extended into electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft and robotics. The company describes its mission as driving the transformation of smart EVs through technology and data.

Its engineering work spans advanced driver-assistance systems, autonomous driving, intelligent in-car operating systems, powertrain technology, electrical and electronic vehicle architecture, over-the-air software updates and connected vehicle technology. Two products are developed in-house on a full-stack basis: XPILOT, its advanced driver-assistance system, and Xmart OS, its in-car operating system. The vehicle line-up comprises the X9 MPV, the P7+ sedan, the G9 SUV and the G6 crossover, each built around connectivity, autonomous driving capabilities and over-the-air updates.

Manufacturing facilities are located in Zhaoqing and Guangzhou. International offices are situated in Amsterdam, which serves as European headquarters, alongside Copenhagen, Munich, Oslo and Stockholm, with operations spanning Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific. XPeng listed on the NYSE in 2021, and Volkswagen has made an investment in the company.
