WireScreen

WireScreen is a risk intelligence platform mapping Chinese corporate ownership and business networks for due diligence, compliance, and supply chain analysis.

WireScreen is a risk intelligence platform that maps and decodes China's global business networks. Founded in 2019 by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist David Barboza, whose reporting for The New York Times forms part of its investigative heritage, the company produces open-source intelligence on Chinese corporations for due diligence, compliance, and supply chain mapping. Its stated mission is to uncover hidden ownership and corruption in Chinese business networks, in work where accuracy is critical given the high-stakes nature of its clients.

The WireScreen Platform draws on hundreds of hard-to-access primary sources - including corporate filings, trade data, patents, and procurement documents - to surface hidden ownership, affiliations, regulatory exposure, and supply chain relationships. The technical work spans OSINT, data aggregation and analytics, entity resolution and ownership mapping, and supply chain mapping. The database covers over 20 million company profiles and 37 million executives and individuals.

Customers include United States government agencies such as the Department of Defense, Treasury, and Commerce, alongside finance, trade, supply chain, procurement, and research organisations. The data focus is China, while the customer base is concentrated in the United States.
