Temporal Technologies
Temporal Technologies builds an open-source durable execution platform that abstracts queues, databases and schedulers so distributed applications never lose state.
Temporal Technologies, founded in 2019, develops an open-source durable execution platform for building reliable distributed systems. The Temporal Platform abstracts away queues, databases, schedulers, state machines and infrastructure concerns, allowing applications to retain state even when failures occur and letting developers concentrate on business logic rather than failure handling. Its technical domains include durable execution, workflow orchestration, state management and infrastructure abstraction.
The platform handles some 130 billion actions a month across roughly 1,500 customers. Among the companies using it are Netflix, Stripe, Datadog, Snapchat, OpenAI and DoorDash, spanning sectors from payments and observability to streaming, artificial intelligence and on-demand delivery.
The company was founded by infrastructure engineers behind Amazon SQS, AWS Simple Workflow Service, the Azure Durable Task Framework and Uber's Cadence. Its community numbers more than 14,000 members, and its investors include Andreessen Horowitz, Sequoia, Tiger Global and Index Ventures. Temporal Technologies has a global presence.
