Talkiatry is a clinician-led virtual psychiatry practice founded in 2020 by Robert Krayn, a patient who encountered barriers to care firsthand, together with Dr. Georgia Gaveras, a triple-board-certified psychiatrist. It delivers in-network psychiatric visits by telehealth, treating conditions such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD and mood disorders, with first appointments typically available in days rather than months.
The company operates across 45 US states and has delivered more than 2m patient visits with a network of over 600 psychiatrists and therapists. Its technical work spans telehealth and virtual care, healthtech, healthcare IT and workflow automation, and insurance and reimbursement infrastructure, supported by more than 100 insurance partners.
Two products sit at the core of the business. The virtual psychiatric care platform provides insurance-covered visits from home; the clinician practice platform supplies technology and operational support intended to cut administrative burden, giving clinicians the clinical autonomy of private practice alongside the stability of a hospital system. The approach addresses a market in which roughly 60% of American adults with a diagnosable mental illness go untreated each year and around 45% of clinicians remain out of network owing to low reimbursement and paperwork.
