Relativity

Relativity Space builds 3D-printed rockets, using its Stargate printers to compress production to about 60 days, and develops the reusable Terran R launch vehicle.

Relativity Space designs and manufactures rockets built almost entirely through 3D printing. The company's stated aim is to make access to orbit routine, affordable and reliable. Its technical work spans large-scale additive manufacturing, rocket propulsion, reusable launch vehicle design and space launch systems, serving the space launch, satellite constellation, space infrastructure and aerospace sectors.

Two assets anchor the company's approach. Stargate, its proprietary large-scale additive manufacturing printers, is used to print rocket structures and compresses a traditional two-year production timeline into roughly 60 days. Terran R is a reusable launch vehicle intended to deliver payloads with flexibility and a high flight frequency.

The engineering culture borrows from software development: rapid iteration, short build cycles and an ambition that extends to enabling human life on other planets. Roles at the company typically involve problems in manufacturing automation, materials and propulsion engineering, and the design of reusable launch hardware.
