Pensive

Pensive builds AI-powered tools for higher education. Its platform is designed to help instructors manage larger workloads while preserving the development of critical thinking in students. The company's technology operates across several domains, including automated grading, tutoring, and the generation of assessment rubrics.

The company offers two primary products. An AI grading assistant is intended to reduce the time instructors spend on evaluation while providing students with more timely feedback. A separate AI tutoring service is tailored for STEM courses at colleges and universities. The underlying approach, as stated by the company, is that technology should amplify human judgment rather than replace it.

Pensive is a small team, and its stated values emphasize high output, user satisfaction, and a reflective approach to product development. The company operates within the higher education vertical, focusing on colleges and universities.
