Oumi
Oumi builds an unconditionally open-source platform for the full AI model lifecycle, spanning data preparation, training, evaluation and deployment for custom models.
Oumi develops what it describes as the world's first unconditionally open-source AI platform, covering the full model lifecycle from data preparation and synthesis through training, evaluation and production deployment. The platform is aimed at developers and enterprises building custom AI models, and the company claims it can compress the process from months to hours. Users retain control over their data, privacy and infrastructure, a position Oumi contrasts with reliance on generic, rented models.
The platform bundles several components: intelligent data synthesis and preparation tooling; flexible training built on proven recipes; automated evaluation; and unified management of datasets, models and compute resources. The company states that customers can achieve cost reductions of up to 70%. Technical domains span machine-learning training, automated model evaluation, data synthesis and MLOps, or model lifecycle management.
Oumi was founded by former Google and Apple engineers and is backed by researchers at more than 13 leading academic institutions, including Stanford, MIT, Princeton and Oxford. The company positions its work around open, collaborative and accessible AI development, with an emphasis on helping organisations differentiate through specialised models. Further details on funding, team size and geographic presence are not disclosed.
