Magical is building an agentic AI platform that deploys AI employees into workplaces to handle repetitive administrative workflows autonomously. The company's emphasis is on production reliability rather than demonstrations: its agents are designed to think, reason and execute complex tasks in high-stakes environments, notably healthcare administration, including prior authorisations, claims processing and eligibility checks.

The platform grew out of Magical's original product, a text expander and productivity tool. Across its products the company reports more than 750,000 users, saving an average of seven hours per week. Technical work spans autonomous agents, natural language processing, workflow automation and the reliability engineering required to run such systems in production settings where errors carry real consequences.

Magical employs 73 people and is backed by investors who have also backed OpenAI, Anthropic and Notion. It regards itself as early in its trajectory.
