Lightning AI
Lightning AI, creator of PyTorch Lightning, builds a cloud platform that spans ML prototyping, training, deployment and production scaling for over 10,000 organisations.
Lightning AI builds what it calls the first operating system for AI development: an end-to-end cloud platform that spans the machine learning workflow, from prototyping and training through deployment and production scaling. The company is also behind PyTorch Lightning, the open-source deep learning framework it created and is known for. Its platform supplies cloud GPUs, collaborative development environments and integrated tooling, with the stated aim of removing infrastructure management from the developer's workload.
The Lightning AI Platform serves more than 10,000 organisations worldwide, ranging from individual researchers to Fortune 500 enterprises. The company has raised $127m in total capital. Technical work covers machine learning infrastructure, cloud-based GPU compute, distributed training, model deployment and production scaling, and developer tooling for AI.
Lightning AI has merged with Voltage Park, combining its developer-first software with large-scale, cost-efficient compute infrastructure. The company maintains offices in New York, San Francisco, Seattle and London, and operates globally. Its stated orientation is developer-first: letting engineers build intelligent systems rather than manage servers.
