Knightscope
Security technology company founded in 2013 building autonomous security robots, AI orchestration software and Augmented Security Agents for real-time threat detection and response in the United States.
Knightscope, founded in 2013, is a security technology company that builds and operates what it calls an Autonomous Security Force: a combination of autonomous security robots, AI-driven orchestration software and licensed Augmented Security Agents designed to deter, detect and respond to threats in real time. The company is publicly listed on NASDAQ under the ticker KSCP and operates in the United States.
The engineering work spans several technical domains, including autonomous robotics, artificial intelligence, sensor fusion and security operations software. Its machine vision, audio and voice capabilities are bundled into what the company describes as intelligent eyes, ears and voice on mobile platforms. Applied problems include surveillance and threat detection, automated gunshot detection, and continuous risk and threat exposure monitoring.
The product line centres on three autonomous security robot models - K5, K7 and K1 Hemisphere - which patrol commercial properties, parking lots and public spaces 24/7. Around the hardware sits the Knightscope Security Operations Center (KSOC), a software platform that extends the offering beyond robots, alongside Augmented Security Agents integrated into a single accountable security operation. Deployments span airports, casinos, hospitals, corporate campuses, educational institutions, law enforcement, logistics, commercial real estate and public spaces.
Knightscope was founded by William Santana Li, who has more than 30 years of experience in the global automotive sector and previously founded Carbon Motors Corporation in 2003. The company states that it was created in direct response to national tragedies including 9/11, the Sandy Hook shootings and the Boston bombings, with a stated mission to make the United States the safest country in the world.
