Intersect

Intersect Power develops and builds gigawatt-scale clean energy and data centre projects in the U.S. for AI demand; acquired by Google in March 2026.

Intersect Power develops and constructs multiple gigawatts of energy and data centre projects across the United States, built around the infrastructure that artificial intelligence demands and the cleanest energy available to supply it. Founded in 2016, the company works across two linked lines of business: large-scale energy projects and data centre development, with multiple gigawatts of combined capacity under development or construction.

In March 2026 Intersect Power was acquired by Google and now operates as an independent subsidiary of it. The company's technical domains span energy infrastructure, data centre development, clean and renewable energy, and AI infrastructure, and its project pipeline sits within the energy, data centre and renewables verticals.

The firm operates a fully flexible workplace, offering work-from-home, hybrid or in-office arrangements, a policy in place since its founding. It maintains six hub locations - in the SF Bay Area, NYC Metro, Denver, Austin, Calgary and Toronto - and runs Team Week experiences four times a year. The company describes its culture as energised by ambition and grounded in action.
