Human Longevity, Inc.
Precision medicine company combining whole genome sequencing, whole-body MRI, blood biomarkers and AI analytics for early disease detection.
Human Longevity, Inc. applies machine learning and large-scale data analysis to problems in precision medicine. Founded in 2013 by genomics pioneer Dr. J. Craig Venter, who led the sequencing of the first complete human genome, the company combines whole genome sequencing, whole-body MRI imaging and more than 120 blood biomarkers to support early disease detection. Each client generates over 150 gigabytes of data, and the company has catalogued more than 400 million genetic variants.
Its health intelligence platform applies AI analytics to re-analyse client data continuously as the underlying science advances, rather than treating each assessment as a fixed snapshot. Technical work spans genomics, medical imaging, computational biology and biogerontology, with the stated aim of identifying disease risk earlier than conventional, reactive care allows.
Over $600 million has been invested in research. Assessments and early-detection services are delivered through two precision medicine clinics in California: a San Diego flagship opened in 2015 and a Bay Area clinic opened in 2022. The company describes its staff as scientists, physicians and technologists, and maintains a scientific advisory board that includes Nobel laureates Geoffrey Hinton, a pioneer of deep learning, and Michael Levitt, a computational biologist, along with biogerontologist Aubrey de Grey.
