Gitar
Founded in 2023 and acquired by SonarSource in 2026, Gitar builds AI agents for code review and CI workflows, diagnosing CI failures and committing fixes to branches.
Gitar is a developer infrastructure company founded in 2023 by Ali-Reza Adl-Tabatabai and Gautam Korlam, both formerly of Uber's developer platform group. It builds AI agents aimed at code review and continuous integration workflows, addressing what the firm describes as the verification and validation bottleneck created by AI-accelerated code generation. In 2026 the company was acquired by SonarSource.
Its flagship product, also called Gitar, is an AI-native code review tool that goes beyond traditional static analysis. It reviews pull requests with the full context of a codebase and team conventions, with an emphasis on high signal and minimal noise. In addition, it diagnoses CI failures, proposes fixes and commits them back to branches once approved.
The product is built to work with existing DevOps tooling rather than replace it: it reads pipelines across GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps, CircleCI, Buildkite and other CI/CD tools. Technical work spans agentic reasoning, LLM-powered code understanding, static analysis and developer infrastructure, applied across the software development, DevOps and software quality sectors.
