Garner Health

Garner Health analyses the largest U.S. medical claims database to identify high-quality doctors and guides employees to them, reimbursing out-of-pocket costs to align incentives with better outcomes.

Garner Health is a data-driven healthcare company founded in 2019 and based in the United States. It analyses the largest medical claims database in the country to determine which doctors diagnose more accurately and achieve better patient outcomes, then directs employees to those providers and reimburses their out-of-pocket medical costs when they choose them. The model is intended to align financial incentives with quality of care and to reduce employer healthcare spending.

The company's analytics rest on a claims database holding over 60 billion medical records from 320 million patients. Its technical work spans healthcare data analytics, medical claims data analysis, data science, provider quality measurement and data strategy. Two products sit on this foundation: a platform that guides employees to high-performing providers and reimburses their costs, and a provider quality analytics capability built on the claims database itself.

Garner Health works with more than 700 partner organisations across the healthcare, employee benefits, employer-sponsored health insurance and health insurance sectors. The company was founded by Nick Reber, previously a member of the Oscar Health leadership team focused on analytics and data strategy, and describes its mission as fixing a broken healthcare system by aligning incentives with quality outcomes.
