Foodsmart
Foodsmart operates a US telenutrition and foodcare platform pairing registered dietitian counseling, meal planning and online food ordering with SNAP assistance for health plans and employers.
Foodsmart is a telenutrition and foodcare platform based in the United States, founded in 2010. Its technology combines dietary assessments and nutrition counseling with online food ordering and cost-effective meal planning, in a single service covering the whole family. The company reports that it has helped more than 2.2 million members improve their health.
The platform is built around several technical domains: telenutrition and telehealth delivery, a nutrition counseling platform, meal planning, online food ordering, and tools for food access and affordability. Alongside the software, Foodsmart operates what it describes as the largest national network of registered dietitians in America, who provide personalised nutrition guidance to members. The system also assists with SNAP enrolment and management, working with national and regional retailers that accept SNAP/EBT.
Foodsmart reaches its users through more than 700 partnerships with health plans, employers and health systems nationwide. Its customer base spans Medicaid managed care, Medicare Advantage, commercial insurance and employer benefits, as well as the nutrition, wellness and food retail sectors. In 2024 the company received a $200m investment from TPG's Rise Fund.
Stated priorities include extending coverage to low-income workers, who are disproportionately affected by diet-related diseases, and improving health equity and access to nutritious food among underserved communities.
