DataKind

DataKind is a nonprofit using data science and AI to build scalable tools for health, humanitarian, climate and economic challenges, with a global volunteer community.

DataKind is a nonprofit founded in 2012 that designs scalable, data-driven tools and applies data science and artificial intelligence to problems in frontline health, humanitarian action, climate resilience and economic opportunity. It works as both a product developer and a catalyst for a broader "Data for Good" movement in the social sector, combining human-centred design with data-driven product development.

The organisation grew out of a founder's blog post in 2010, which drew more than 300 sign-ups within a week. It now convenes a global community of more than 30,000 volunteers and supporters, organised across five chapters. Its work has been recognised by Fast Company, which named it one of the top ten innovative nonprofits.

DataKind has a presence in Bengaluru, San Francisco, Singapore, the United Kingdom and Washington DC. It describes itself as community-first, putting the communities it serves ahead of the technology, and as a mission-driven organisation focused on serving humanity through cutting-edge methods.
