Bright Machines

Bright Machines builds data centre infrastructure for hyperscalers through software-defined manufacturing, combining advanced robotics, proprietary software and AI.

Bright Machines, founded in 2018, operates a fully integrated Bright Factory that builds data centre infrastructure for hyperscalers. Its approach combines advanced robotics, proprietary software and AI into what it calls software-defined manufacturing, applied to electronics manufacturing and AI infrastructure hardware. The company is backed by investors including BlackRock, Eclipse Capital, NVIDIA and Microsoft.

Three products make up its offering. The Bright Factory is the integrated manufacturing service, reporting a 98% first-pass yield and end-to-end data traceability. Microfactory units are intelligent automation cells for building electronics and AI hardware; more than 130 have been deployed across over 10 countries. Brightware Platform is the proprietary operating system that underpins the automation and manufacturing stack. Technical work spans intelligent automation, advanced robotics, AI and software platforms.

Reported scale metrics include more than 300,000 servers produced, over 60 lifetime end customers, and new product introductions in under four hours. The work sits at the intersection of machine learning systems, robotics and industrial software engineering.
