Bonsai Robotics
Bonsai Robotics builds a vision-based autonomy platform for off-road environments, offering the Amiga autonomous machines and retrofit autonomy for existing agricultural equipment.
Bonsai Robotics develops a vision-based autonomy platform designed to operate in off-road environments. The company's work spans computer vision, autonomous systems, off-road robotics, agricultural automation and data analytics, with the stated aim of making autonomy simple, affordable and accessible for operations ranging from small growers to global companies. Bonsai reports having captured data across 500k acres.
The platform is delivered in two ways. The Amiga product line comprises new autonomous machines deployed for off-road jobs. Alongside this, Bonsai offers retrofit autonomy: vision-based automation that adds self-driving capability to customers' existing equipment, which the company describes as a faster, more flexible and more cost-effective route to deployment. For the retrofit product, Bonsai reports 45% lower operating expenses and 60% quicker job completions.
Bonsai's stated focus is on easing labour constraints, cutting costs and reducing risk for its customers' teams, positioning its technology as a way to help growers respond to labour shortages in agriculture and other off-road operations.
