Arcade
Arcade builds an AI platform that turns text or image prompts into custom, manufacturable products, made by a network of artisans and sold through its marketplace.
Arcade is a San Francisco-based company building what it describes as the world's first AI physical product creation platform, currently patent pending. The platform allows users to design, purchase and sell custom, manufacturable products by describing what they want in natural language or by uploading an image; the system generates unique design suggestions, which a curated network of artisans in several countries then produces. The underlying technical work spans generative AI, text-to-design and image-to-design models, AI-generated design suggestion systems and on-demand manufacturing. Early verticals include custom jewellery and home goods such as handwoven rugs.
The company is headquartered in the Presidio and has raised $42 million in total funding. Its investors include Reid Hoffman, Forerunner Ventures, Canaan Partners, Sound Ventures and Inspired Capital, with angel investors among them Marissa Mayer, Karlie Kloss and Colin Kaepernick.
Arcade was co-founded by Mariam Naficy, the serial entrepreneur who also founded and chairs Minted. Varun Jampani serves as Chief AI Officer; he is a co-author of Dreambooth and the creator of Stable Diffusion 3.5. The wider team draws on experience from Google, Apple, Stability AI, NVIDIA, Databricks and Stanford, MIT and Berkeley.
